Man. It has been a crazy month so far. I just got back from Las Vegas a week ago (company retreat). We stayed in the MGM Grand for four days. We did not step foot outside the hotel because it was so hot. It was kind of surprising that we decided Vegas because I know my boss cannot stand heat. Anyway. It was fun! I didn’t really gamble much since it’s not really my thing, but Gary won around $590 by playing video poker. I don’t even want to know how much my boss lost. Hehe. While at MGM we watched Howie Mandel at Hollywood Theatre. Before going to that show we saw Carmen Electra doing a photo-op in front of Crazy Horse. She is so gorgeous in person!

We arrived back at the beach late Friday night. I was so happy to be back home. We decided to name our Corgi, Indy, as in Independence Day (the day we brought him home) and Indiana Jones. We were so happy to see that his ears were perked up! It felt so good to finally have a name for him. He responds to us when we call out his name. Right now we are trying hard to make him stop biting humans. We use the “Leave it” command when he grabs hold on our slippers or pants. It works… temporarily. So we just got to do the routine over and over. He also understands “sit.”

My body also took a toll last night. Gary surprised me with tickets to the VAMPS concert in Baltimore. He sends me an email Wednesday night with a pdf attached with the subject line saying “please print this” and I’m thinking, “Dude, you’re at work — why do I need to print this at the house even though we have a printer at work?” He wanted to surprise me before his brother came over that night (to take care of Indy while we were gone Thursday). The first thing that popped out of my mouth was “Oh no he didn’t!” I wanted to cry, but I would have felt embarrassed in front of his sister and her friend (they came over to watch Indy while Gary and I are at work — I try to work mornings and he (Gary) in the late afternoon/evening). We wanted to make the meet & greet session, but by the time we got to bed it was already 5am and I was thinking… we will be too tired and there’s no way we’re going to be on the road for 4-5 hours with just three hours of sleep. We ended up leaving at around noon and arrived at Sonar around 5:30ish. Doors opened at 8pm and the concert started at around 9. It was exciting! They started the night with “LOVE ADDICT,” which I think is a great song to start off with. It really sucks being short! My neck hurts from trying to look over the taller people in front of me, but I still had a good look at everyone on-stage. My calf muscles are spazzing from me jumping up & down or trying to tippy-toe. And my shoulders ache because of waving my arms throughout the entire night, but it was WORTH IT! I had more stamina than I thought. LOL. I would have taken photos, but I respected their wishes of not taking video or pictures. I probably would have taken a crappy photos since there’s so little personal space and people are trying to move closer to them. I was actually quite calm during the concert. Of course I got into it, but I didn’t scream my head off or cry the entire evening. The only time I really felt the urge to let the tears go was when they played “SEASON’S CALL” during their encore. I love the song and feel emotional during the last verse of the song, but just hearing it live struck a nerve in me. They ended the night with “MIDNIGHT CELEBRATION.” I probably would have gone nuts if they played “SWEET VANILLA,” though (which is my absolute favorite HYDE song). I also would have liked to hear his version of “GLAMOROUS SKY.” Who knows? Maybe if they come back! Haha!
