It has been a long time since the Hampton Roads area received a crap-load of snow. The last time I can remember was during my freshman year… almost a decade ago. *groans* I remember my friend banging on my door (I lived in the dorms at the time) around 2 or maybe 3 in the morning and telling me to go outside. A majority of my hall and a lot of friends that lived on the second floor came out to play. Fun times. Since then there have been predictions, but we never got more than an inch. I think the last time there was a major prediction for snow, which shut everything down before a snowflake fell, was around the time of Obama’s Inauguration.
So when I woke up Saturday morning and saw more than a few inches of snow I was happy. I wanted it to snow just so I could see how Indy would react to it. I’m glad our little dude loved it. He jumps around in it, shovels his nose into it, digs and eats it. All I can do is smile and laugh. He looks so carefree. The only thing that sucks about the whole situation is driving in it. I had the day off today since it looks like a lot of the roads haven’t been cleared yet. Plus Gary and I didn’t get our chance to grocery shop. So all we have is chicken. It’s like I’m living in the dorm again, except I don’t have easy access to the deli place in another dorm a few blocks down.
I walked Indy around the lake for the first time in a couple of weeks. He was neutered two weeks ago and we were told to take it easy during that time. So you can imagine how happy he was walking around again and jumping in fluffy snow. I guess our next step is taking Indy to the beach.
